Multi-Phase Training Program
Setting You Up for Opening Day
New franchisees acquiring a The UPS Store® franchise complete a comprehensive multi-phase training program in the order below.
Phase 1
Online Training
Web-based tutorials will introduce you to The UPS Store® products and services, technology, operations, business practices, and business acumen. The online training sessions serve as a foundation for your in-store and in-class training.
Phase 2
In-Store Experience I
A multi-day training session will focus on familiarizing you to center operations, technical systems, and business practices. You will work with a certified trainer who will coach you on the day-to-day operations of a center.
- Time Commitment: 5 days
- Location: Local certified training center
Phase 3
University Business Course & Print Services Training
A multi-day interactive workshop will focus on business acumen, including marketing, operations, sales, and financial management. You will get hands-on experience with our print services equipment, software, and in-center production procedures.
Commitment: 8 days
- Location: San Diego, CA at The UPS Store® University, conducted virtually, or conducted by a certified training at a Certified Training Center (or any combination of the three).
Phase 4
In-Store Experience II
Another five-day training session will be held at a local Certified Training Center in your area. This training will focus on giving you on-the-job experience. You will have the opportunity to engage with customers under the supervision of a certified trainer.
